Welcome to  STAMPS on the Web.
The website specialized in stamps and covers from the Netherlands and former colonies

STAMPS on the Web offers an extensive and continuously expanding on-line inventory of stamps and covers from the Netherlands and its colonies (Netherlands Indies, Netherlands Antilles/Curacao, Netherlands New Guinea and Surinam).
On the website we provide a search tool which allows you to easily find the stamps/covers you are interested in.
For all items we provide Scott and NVPH catalog numbers, descriptions, catalog prices and for the more expensive stamps/covers also a scan. We also provide a 'shopping cart' mechanism that allows you to select the items you like. After finishing 'shopping' you can check-out to provide to complete your purchase.

Following is a guide on how to use the site:

By clicking the     button on any of our main pages,  you enter our 'Search for Stamps' screen.

This screen allows you to search through our extensive database of stamps and covers.
You have a number of criteria you can use to search our extensive database:

Country Select country of interest (a list of countries is provided.)
Catalog Chose the catalog you're using -
both the NVPH and Scott numbering is supported.
Starting from number XXXX This allows you the enter a catalog number from which you want to search
(see also the note on catalog numbering below)
Select status of stamps Search for only Mint (hinged and/or not hinged) or only Used/Cancelled
or both Mint and Used/Cancelled stamps. We use MNH (mint not hinged) for post fresh ('postfris') stamps as defined by the NVPH catalog. All stamps with hinges or hinge rests or partial/no gum are catagorized to be MH (mint hinged).
Area of interest Select a category of stamps:
Regular: Regular stamp issues (as defined by Scott)
Semi-postals: Semi postal stamps/sets (as defined by Scott - all 'B' numbers)
Airmail: Airmail stamps/sets ('Luchtpost' section in NVPH, all 'C' numbers in Scott)
Postage due: Postage due stamps/sets ('Portzegels' section in NVPH, all 'J' numbers in Scott)

Covers: All other covers, with any stamps/sets out of the above categories
Complete year: Complete sets of all stamps and s/s's issued in a year
Lots / collections: Groups of stamps sold as one lot
Special stamps: Specials stamps not listed under any of the previous categories, includes for instance 'parcel post', 'marine insurance' stamps but also pre-philately covers

(a note on catalog numbering: we use all letter codes from the Scott catalog (example - number 45 is a regular stamp, J6 is a postage due and B1-3 is a semi postal set.) For the NVPH numbering we use numbers without preceeding letters for all regular and semi postal sets, we use the 'E', 'PB' and 'R' numbers as applied in the NVPH catalog but we have added a 'C', 'J' and 'O' prefix to the standard NVPH numbering scheme (like with Scott numbering) for Airmail, Postage due and Official stamps .)
